RSV stands for Respiratory Syncytial Virus. It’s a very common respiratory virus that infects the lungs and airways.
Who should get it?
✔Adults who are over 60 years of age
✔Adults who are 50–59 years of age and have increased risk
from RSV. This includes those with a weakened immune
system, smokers, and those with long term lung/heart
conditions.
✔Pregnant women between 28-36 weeks of gestation
✔Where the patient requires immunisation but does not qualify
for a free NHS vaccination.
