Service Description

Shingles is a viral infection caused by reactivation of the Chicken pox- Varicella-Zoster virus. Symptoms: Painful blistering rash on one side of the body or face. The rash is preceded by tingling, pain or itching in the affected area. Mild fever, headache, tiredness or upset stomach as well. Treatments: Antivirals are prescribed by the pharmacist if needed. Cost: Free consultation + medication is free if NHS exempt, or £9.90 for prescription medication.
