Service Description
A bacterial infection that can occur anywhere in the urinary system (more common to women due to shorter urethra). Triggers that cause UTI's include: holding urine too long, catheters, a weak immune system, diabetes, sex or poor hygiene. Symptoms: Urinary urgency & frequency, burning sensation and lower abdominal pain. Treatment: Antibiotics are prescribed by the pharmacist if needed. Cost: Free consultation + medication is free if NHS exempt, or £9.90 for prescription medication
